Oscar De La Hoya<\/a> has shared his verdict on whether he believes Jake Paul<\/a> can go on to win a world title.<\/p>\n

Paul made his return to the ring last Saturday night, outpointing Mexico\u2019s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr<\/a> at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.<\/p>\n

It was the 28-year-old\u2019s first ring appearance since he got the better of 59-year-old heavyweight legend \u2018Iron Mike\u2019 Tyson in their controversial bout at the AT&T Stadium in Texas last November.<\/p>\n

Victory over Chavez has officially secured Paul a legitimate cruiserweight world ranking<\/a>, after it was revealed earlier this week that \u2018The Problem Child\u2019 had been ranked at number 14 with the WBA, a decision that has received criticism from fans and critics around the globe.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Boxing News<\/a>, legendary fighter-turned-promoter De La Hoya gave plaudits to Paul as he claims he believes the controversial American has a \u2018real, real shot\u2019 at becoming a world champion.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Golden Boy\u2019 went on to talk about Paul\u2019s genius promotion strategy.<\/p>\n

I think that Jake is doing the right moves for his career and I strongly feel that he is serious about boxing for the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
