There are a few amazing infrastructure projects<\/a> nearing completion in 2025, and one of them is what\u2019s been called a skyscraper \u201cmasterpiece.\u201d Located in the heart of New York City<\/a>, the world\u2019s richest city, it\u2019s set to become one of the tallest and most advanced office buildings ever built.<\/p>\n

The JPMorgan Chase Building will stand 1,388 feet (423 metres) tall, making it more than 100 metres taller than The Shard in London<\/a>, which reaches 310 metres. Once finished, it will be New York\u2019s<\/a> largest all-electric skyscraper and will operate with net zero emissions. The total cost of the building is estimated to be around \u00a32.4billion ($3billion).<\/p>\n

The skyscraper will become JPMorgan\u2019s new global headquarters, housing up to 14,000 employees across 2.5 million square feet of office space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It will feature 25% more space per person and 50% more communal space compared to the bank\u2019s old offices.<\/p>\n

The building was first revealed in 2022 by architecture firm Foster+Partners<\/a>, with plans released showing that it would also include a full health and wellness centre, meditation rooms, yoga and cycling studios, and state-of-the-art air filtration systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There will also be outdoor terraces, natural plantings, and 30 percent more daylight compared to standard offices.<\/p>\n

Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan\u2019s CEO, said at the time: \u201cWe are extremely excited about the building\u2019s state-of-the-art technology, health and wellness amenities, and public spaces, among many other features.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is in the best location in one of the world\u2019s greatest cities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Norman Foster, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Foster+Partners, added: \u201c270 Park Avenue is set to be a new landmark that responds to its historic location as well as the legacy of JPMorgan Chase in New York<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe unique design rises to the challenge of respecting the rhythm and distinctive streetscape of Park Avenue, while accommodating the vital transport infrastructure<\/a> of the city below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe result is an elegant solution where the architecture is the structure, and the structure is the architecture, embracing a new vision that will serve JPMorgan Chase now and well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

To improve the working environment, the building will include circadian lighting to match people\u2019s natural body clocks, and a fully connected system using over 50,000 smart devices.<\/p>\n

Employees will also have access to a high-end food hall featuring 19 restaurants<\/a>, with some offering table service and meals delivered directly to desks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The food offering is being developed in partnership with Danny Meyer from Union Square Hospitality.<\/p>\n

Designed by Foster+Partners, the building has created more than 8,000 construction jobs during the build and is expected to open by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n
