\u201cRussia, hiding behind humanitarian rhetoric, is\u00a0trying to\u00a0legalize the presence of\u00a0a\u00a0foreign military contingent on\u00a0its territory, effectively using it\u00a0to\u00a0support combat operations against Ukraine,\u201d the intelligence directorate stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0addition to\u00a0the mass recruitment of\u00a0mercenaries from African and Asian countries and units from North Korea, the Kremlin is\u00a0exploring<\/a> the possibility of\u00a0involving so-called partners under the pretext of\u00a0implementing humanitarian projects in\u00a0Russia\u2019s border regions with Ukraine. <\/p>\n

According to\u00a0HUR, Moscow is\u00a0now organizing a\u00a0combined engineering detachment from the Lao People\u2019s Army to\u00a0conduct mine-clearing operations in\u00a0the Kursk region. <\/p>\n

The Laotian leadership, heavily dependent on\u00a0external aid, has expressed readiness to\u00a0dispatch up\u00a0to\u00a050\u00a0military sapper personnel. <\/p>\n

They have also pledged to\u00a0provide free rehabilitation services for Russian servicemen wounded in\u00a0Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Russia\u2019s Security Council Secretary, Sergei Shoigu, announced<\/a> that North Korea will send 1,000 military deminers and 5,000 construction workers to\u00a0support post-war reconstruction and demining in\u00a0the Kursk region under \u201cspecial instructions\u201d from the Russian leader, deepening Moscow\u2019s reliance on\u00a0foreign manpower.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence and CNN revealed<\/a> that North Korea plans to\u00a0send an\u00a0additional 25,000\u201330,000 troops to\u00a0front-line operations alongside Russian forces, tripling its current contingent after an\u00a0initial deployment of\u00a011,000 soldiers in\u00a0November 2024. <\/p>\n

Losses among early deployments have been heavy, prompting Moscow to\u00a0supply equipment and integrate Pyongyang\u2019s forces into summer offensives. <\/p>\n
