Both will have breached the \u20ac60m football earnings cap for the 3 years to 30 June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 slbsn (@slbsn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/slbsn\/status\/1941415096456184274?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 5, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>View Tweet<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Aston Villa must reduce losses or face ban from European football<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The finance expert explained on X that, should Villa make losses over \u20ac85m next year up until June 2026, UEFA will ban the club from participation in European competition for one year.<\/p>\n<p>Concerningly for the club, last year\u2019s losses (2023\/24 period) were \u00a385.4m [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/c8dgjqler7jo#:~:text=Aston%20Villa%20have%20reported%20an,loss%20in%20the%20previous%20year.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BBC Sport<\/a>], which is \u20ac98.97m.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst their financial losses dipped massively from the year prior, Villa are currently on course to fail UEFA\u2019s limits based on the numbers available.<\/p>\n<p>The second, less severe, punishment on the table is a \u20ac5m fine should the Villains breach a limit of \u20ac65m in losses.<\/p>\n<p>However, the club have already begun making moves that will bring down their costs for the coming season.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/jhon-duran-not-serious-new-aston-villa-transfer-development-sparks-outrage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jhon Duran\u2019s sale to Al-Nassr<\/a> will be registered on the accounts for the previous period, so too will Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio\u2019s loan fees and wages.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Jhon-Duran-1024x576.png\" alt=\"Jhon-Duran Aston Villa Arsenal\" class=\"wp-image-631735\" \/>Duran left for Saudi Arabia in a big-money January move (Credit Imago)<\/p>\n<p>Any further sales going forward will go towards their accounting numbers for the new period, meaning the sale of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/sources-aston-villa-agree-kesler-hayden-deal-second-transfer-to-follow-as-medical-booked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaine Kesler-Hayden to Coventry City<\/a> will boost their numbers, given the transfer took place on 1 July.<\/p>\n<p>The same can be said about getting the wages of players like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/philippe-coutinho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philippe Coutinho<\/a>, Kortney Hause, and Robin Olsen off the books.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst the current numbers suggest that it may be tight, Villa are clearly making moves to reduce their wages and costs in an effort to avoid further sanctions from UEFA.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83e\udd13 EXPLAINED: What Aston Villa have agreed to by way of UEFA restrictions \u2013 complicated but achievable.
