{"id":240571,"date":"2025-07-05T16:59:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T16:59:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/240571\/"},"modified":"2025-07-05T16:59:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T16:59:18","slug":"paralympian-and-former-team-gb-football-captain-visits-berrow-for-fitness-fundraiser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/240571\/","title":{"rendered":"Paralympian and former Team GB football captain visits Berrow for fitness fundraiser"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Berrow Primary School was buzzing with excitement as pupils took part in an unforgettable fitness fundraiser led by Paralympian and former Team GB football captain Jack Rutter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event, organised through the national \u2018Great Athletes\u2019 initiative, saw children complete a circuit of high-energy exercises alongside Jack, with the goal of raising funds for new PE and sports equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is designed to inspire children to be more active while boosting their physical and mental wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the day, Jack shared the inspiring story of his journey to becoming a Paralympian\u2014 highlighting resilience, determination, and the power of mindset.<\/p>\n<p>He followed up with a lively Q&amp;A session, giving pupils the chance to ask questions and learn more about elite sport and overcoming obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was amazing. We learnt to stay fit and to exercise daily. Jack taught us to be strong physically and mentally. It was the best day of the week,\u201d said Year 4 pupil Abigail Cashman.<\/p>\n<p>The event proved to be a huge success\u2014not only lifting spirits but also raising a significant amount of money that will go directly towards enhancing sports opportunities at the school.<\/p>\n<p>Headteacher Charlotte Bradley expressed her gratitude: \u201cProviding opportunities like this really inspires our children at Berrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWe teach our children to reach for the stars and that they are capable of achieving incredible things.
