Stay Close<\/a> star Hyoie O’Grady has joined the cast of BBC comedy-drama Dinosaur<\/a> in a role that promises to “shake things up”. <\/p>\n

The series, created by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie, follows Nina (Storrie), an autistic woman in her 30s who “adores” her home-life with her sister, Evie (Kat Ronney). Nina gets a shock, however, when Evie hurriedly becomes engaged.<\/p>\n

Co-starring David Carlyle and Lorn Macdonald, the “heartfelt” and “hilarious” Dinosaur<\/a> was renewed for a second season by the BBC, and it has now been confirmed that O’Grady has joined the cast.<\/p>\n

Billed as a “fresh new love interest” for Nina, O’Grady’s character will reportedly “shake things up”, with the figure said to be bringing more “laughs” and “surprises” to Nina’s “already eventful world”.<\/p>\n

In addition to O’Grady’s casting, it was also revealed that filming on the second season of Dinosaur, which sees the aforementioned actors all reprise their respective roles, is already under way.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m dead chuffed that the amazing team that brought series 1 to life has been recognised by our peers in the Scottish film and television industry,” said Storrie following the renewal (via BBC<\/a>). <\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so excited that we\u2019re getting to share more of Nina and her family\u2019s journey. Who knows, there might be actual dinosaurs this time round,” she quipped, while co-writer Curtis added that they “couldn’t wait” to re-enter “Nina’s world”.<\/p>\n

Billed as a series containing “authentic” representation and “innovative” humour, Nina’s “surprising journey of self-discovery” will be continued as the bonds of “sisterhood, love” and “friendship” are re-examined.<\/p>\n

O’Grady previously starred as Ken in Netflix’s Stay Close<\/a>, an eight-part adaptation of Harlan Coben<\/a>‘s 2012 novel of the same name. In addition to this, the actor also starred in Sherlock & Daughter<\/a>, a mystery series based on the works of Arthur Conan Doyle.<\/p>\n

Dinosaur is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, while Stay Close is streaming on Netflix.<\/strong><\/p>\n
