A white lab coat worn by Princess Diana on the day her separation from the then-Prince\u00a0of Wales was announced is set to fall under the hammer in the North East.<\/p>\n
Diana wore the garment on December 9, 1992, while visiting the Interconnections Systems (Plessey) factory in South Shields.<\/p>\n
It was the day British Prime Minister John Major announced her separation from the now King Charles III.<\/p>\n

The coat, manufactured by Alexandra, is embroidered with “HRH ‘The Princess of Wales’ on the pocket and is a Euro size 50.<\/p>\n
It will be sold at Anderson & Garland\u2019s Collectors\u2019 Auction on July 10.<\/p>\n
The vendor, who was a team leader at the South Shields factory, said the coat was left on a hanger after Diana\u2019s visit.<\/p>\n

She asked for permission to take it and was told she could keep it. The coat has never been washed and has been stored for over three decades.<\/p>\n
It is expected to sell for between \u00a3800 and \u00a31,200 at the auction.<\/p>\n
The announcement of Diana’s separation from the then Prince of Wales marked a significant turning point in royal history.<\/p>\n

The marriage, once considered a fairytale by many, had long been under the scrutiny of the tabloids.<\/p>\n
The couple divorced in 1996, and Diana tragically died a year later in 1997.<\/p>\n
This rare consignment by Anderson & Garland comes just after a successful sale of Princess Diana memorabilia in California by Julien\u2019s Auctions last week.<\/p>\n

Collectors reportedly spent over $5 million on items once worn by the late princess.<\/p>\n
A Bellville Sassoon floral dress, known as the ‘caring dress’, fetched over \u00a3365,000.<\/p>\n
