{"id":241589,"date":"2025-07-06T02:23:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T02:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/241589\/"},"modified":"2025-07-06T02:23:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T02:23:17","slug":"made-in-chelsea-star-sam-thompson-reunited-with-long-lost-cousin-in-limavady","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/241589\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Made in Chelsea\u2019 star Sam Thompson reunited with long lost cousin in Limavady"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2018I\u2019m a Celeb\u2019 and \u2018Made in Chelsea\u2019 star Sam Thompson has been reunited with family in the County Derry town of Limavady.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sam took part in ITV show DNA Journey where he traced his ancestry back to Northern Ireland and County Derry in particular.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the show Sam can be seen pulling up to Drenagh Estate in Limavady to meet his relative Conolly Patrick McCausland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sam who admittedly knew nothing about his family lineage shows excitement when he receives a text to say he has a DNA cousin in Limavady.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pulling up to the Drenagh estate with friend and JLS star Marvin Humes, who joined him on the journey, Sam looked visibly shocked and joked that he was \u2018never leaving\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The connection between Sam and Mr McCausland traces back to Sam&#8217;s paternal line. The common ancestor being Robert McCausland who is Sam\u2019s seven times and Conolly\u2019s six times great-grandfather. Robert\u2019s great-granddaughter Harriet Lecky married Sam\u2019s four times great-grandfather Charles Thompson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the chat with Conolly, Sam manages to uncover some exciting details about the lives of his ancestors. Conolly also shares with Sam the trials and tribulations of running a stately home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Sam_in_Limavady_(1)-1751721790315.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1043\" height=\"510\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ABOVE: Sam Thompson meets his cousin\u00a0Conolly\u00a0McCausland at\u00a0Drenagh Estate, Limavady<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Drenagh has been the home of the McCausland family since 1729. Today the stunning Georgian Stately Home is open for exclusive house lets, events and weddings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the trip Sam also visited Carrickfergus Castle to uncover more about Charles Thompson. The reality star\u2019s four times great-grandfather who hailed from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh was a Commanding Officer of the Inniskilling Regiment of Foot, in the British Army.
