Nick Cave<\/a> has spoken out about a \u201cglorious\u201d album he is currently enjoying.<\/p>\n

The Bad Seeds<\/a> frontman took to his Red Hand Files<\/a> blog to hail Cameron Winter<\/a>\u2018s recent solo album \u2018Heavy Metal\u2019.<\/p>\n

He drew particular attention to the Geese<\/a> frontman\u2019s track \u2018Drinking Age\u2019, quoting the song\u2019s lyrics: \u201cToday, I met who I\u2019m gonna be from now on \/ And he\u2019s a piece of shit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Sunday morning, I wandered through the little town of Lititz in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where I had been rehearsing with The Bad Seeds,\u201d Cave began.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe streets were wet and empty, and the sun had finally come out, making it feel like the world was emerging from a less complicated time. I found a place to eat called the Tomato Pie Caf\u00e9, ordered eggs and coffee, and gazed out the window at the cherry blossoms blazing in the sunlight.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

He then quoted a Job 26:13-14 from the Bible before adding: \u201cI listened to Cameron Winter\u2019s startling, wigged-out album, \u2018Heavy Metal\u2019. A glorious, emotive voice with brilliant, blistering words, a racked and wondrous thing \u2013 \u2018Today, I met who I\u2019m gonna be from now on \/ And he\u2019s a piece of shit\u2019. Amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Heavy Metal\u2019 was produced by Loren Humphrey (Arctic Monkeys<\/a>,\u00a0Lana Del Rey<\/a>) who previously worked with Winter on Geese\u2019s 2023 LP \u20183D Country<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>\n

Speaking about where the inspiration for his album came from<\/a>, the former\u00a0NME\u00a0Cover artist<\/a> recently told us: \u201cWell, I had a traumatic childhood, you know, all that sort of thing. I was concussed many times as a boy and I developed a love for Tom Waits<\/a> and a fondness for all those people that you\u2019ve mentioned.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy love for Weird Al<\/a> actually developed before my love for any of those other people, so maybe that\u2019s sort of a foundational thing that has become part of the gradient of my references,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s as well as anyone could describe it. I often am really terrible at describing the stuff I make to anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Winter is set to embark on a short tour for the album kicking off in Baltimore on Thursday (April 17)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll then head to the UK for a pair of intimate headline gigs at St Matthias Church in North London on April 24 and 25. The musician will follow this performance with a show at La Halles Aux Oliviers in Paris on April 29.<\/p>\n

Cave meanwhile, recently extended his 2025 solo tour dates with a handful of new shows which continue in June.<\/p>\n
