There’s sheer joy in slapping on sunscreen, grabbing a towel, and lounging by the waves or engaging in lively beach games. Yet, the idyllic beach day can be marred if you’re elbow-to-elbow with hordes of holidaymakers, leaving you tiptoeing around strangers.

That’s precisely why Chelo Abbe couldn’t resist showcasing “one of the most pristine beaches” he’d ever encountered. The tranquil spot is seriously underrated – as you won’t see big crowds there. This is probably why people think it’s one of the most calming stretches of coastlines in Europe.

So what did Chelo make of it? In a viral clip, the travel creator shared his adventure down a daunting path leading to the “completely empty beach.”

But for those less inclined to brave the precarious descent, there are safer steps further along that offer a secure route to the sands.

While ambling along the cliffs, Chelo felt transported to an alien world, likening the surrounding craters to the surface of “Mars”.

He proudly displayed drone-captured vistas of the untouched sandy expanse and crystal-clear waters that look like the perfect place to go for a dip.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

Throughout the day, the beach remained a secluded paradise, known only to a fortunate few. As the video concludes, Chelo begins his journey down to the inviting sands below.

In a bid to preserve the beach’s exclusivity, Chelo refrained from revealing its whereabouts on TikTok. Nonetheless, given the coastal gem has garnered awards, it’s not entirely a secret among beach connoisseurs.

In the comments, one user quickly noted: “The Beautiful Praia da Falesia, Between Albufeira and Vilamoura… my favourite beach.. and it’s 2 hr 42 min (263,7 km) from Lisbon, however those are not access points, it’s dangerous to climb down those.. use the steps provided..”

TripAdvisor users also sing its praises, with one person writing: “One of the nicest beaches in the world. The landscape with its ‘sand mountains’ is spectacular. The beach is wide and I have never seen it crowded, you can walk for miles..”

<img decoding="async" src="https://www.europesays.com/uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/0_Red-cliffs-with-red-soil-and-breathtaking-formations-on-the-wide-sandy-beach-Praia-da-Falesia-Alga.jpeg" alt="Red cliffs with red soil and breathtaking formations on the wide sandy beach. I think so. Beautiful turquoise waters remain shallow for a considerable distance, overlooked by gorgeous red cliffs and usually bright blue skies. Definitely worth a visit!”

A woman shared her experience: “This is the Best beach of our holiday so far. We wanted to try somewhere new but not a long drive away from Albufeira.

“There are a number of sunbeds and parasols for hire, but not huge numbers. With most families bringing their own, we did not have an issue.

“The sea is beautiful with the red cliff backdrop, and you can walk out quite a way before having to swim. There are a lot of steps down to the beach, so I’d recommend you buy drinks, etc, at the snack bar at the top when you arrive.

“They do takeaway and eat in pizza, baguettes, salads for lunch, but prepare to queue! Definitely worth a visit”.

Getting to Albufeira from Belfast

Albufeira does not have its own airport. The nearest airport is Faro Airport (FAO), about 40 km from Albufeira.

In the summer months, easyJet offers plenty of direct flights from Belfast Airport to Faro. These can be pretty affordable – starting at around £50.

Beach lovers can then take a bus or taxi to Praia da Falésia, which should take you around 25 minutes by car.

A man shared a video of the pristine beach he discovered in Portugal, with the golden sand and…

[5174
2000,299,5187,183,416
0":"post-242180","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-eu","8":"tag-eu","9":"tag-europe","10":"tag-european","11":"tag-travel","12":"tag-viral
["GET
