Thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail will batter parts of the UK for 12 hours.<\/p>\n

A total of 26 areas in England could see miserable conditions on Sunday, July 6.<\/p>\n

A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms will be in force between 7am and 7pm on Sunday, July 6.<\/p>\n

The Met Office said: “Thunderstorms are expected to occur during Sunday, initially in the west of the region but spreading east through the morning.<\/p>\n

“These will bring heavy rain, lightning and some hail.<\/p>\n

“Within the warning area, 15-25 mm of rain is expected quite widely, much of this falling within two or three hours at any given place.<\/p>\n

“Where repeated thunderstorms occur, locally higher peaks of 40-60 mm are possible.”<\/p>\n

There could be damage caused by lightning strikes, along with flooding in some areas.<\/p>\n

Public transport could be affected, with longer journey times and delays at short notice.<\/p>\n

‘Some short term loss of power and other services is likely’, the Met Office added.<\/p>\n
