Here are five cases from Glasgow High Court<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n

A Liverpool man who sexually and physically abused vulnerable young people while working at residential care homes in Scotland has been jailed.<\/p>\n

Edward Stanton was found guilty of 11 charges, including rape, on\u00a0May 21, 2025 following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

The 73-year-old targeted\u00a010 victims, aged between six and\u00a022, between May 1985 and April 1994.<\/p>\n

The court heard how Stanton abused some of the children while employed as a manager at Bellshill Children\u2019s Home in\u00a0North Lanarkshire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He went on to abuse the remaining victims while later working as a carer at Wooddean Children\u2019s Home in Bothwell and Flemington House, Uddingston.<\/p>\n

A former Scots boarding school teacher has been jailed for nine years for the abuse of 11 boys.<\/p>\n

William Bain preyed on the pupils while working at three different fee-paying schools.<\/p>\n

The victims included one boy who had gone to “kindly” Bain for help as he was being bullied.<\/p>\n

A violent\u00a0sex attacker who raped a woman having tied her up has been jailed for seven years.<\/p>\n

David Colquhoun turned on his victim after she initially agreed to sexual activity at a house in\u00a0Renfrew<\/a>\u00a0on April 25 2023.<\/p>\n

She then withdrew consent, but the 45-year-old refused to stop, even silencing her cries for help.<\/p>\n

A violent sex predator who repeatedly preyed on two young girls has been jailed for 12 years.<\/p>\n

Hugh Brown was today handed the lengthy prison term as a judge praised both victims for speaking out about their horrific ordeals.<\/p>\n

The 54-year-old was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Brown had earlier been convicted of a total of 13 charges, with the attacks occurring in\u00a0Ayr<\/a>, South Ayrshire, between 1993 and 2004.<\/p>\n

Three suspects are to stand trial, charged with teaming up in a bid to kill a man.<\/p>\n

Jack Dyer, 23, Raymond Dyer, 37, and Kenneth Allan, 34, are alleged to have committed the crime in the streets of Glasgow’s Drumchapel on January 10, 2024.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors claim the man was chased, grabbed and pulled to the ground.<\/p>\n

It is said he was then repeatedly struck on the body with a knife or similar weapon.<\/p>\n
