So does the Pixel Watch 4 look set to improve upon its 4.5-star rated predecessor, the Pixel Watch 3?

We’ve rounded up the latest rumours and noted everything we know about the Pixel Watch 4. As it’s rumoured, although unconfirmed, that the Pixel 10 collection will be revealed in August again, it’s likely this is when the Pixel Watch 4 series will launch too.

While we don’t have any indications on an exact price, the Pixel Watch 3 launched with a starting RRP of £349 / $349 so we’re thinking the Pixel Watch 4 might sport a similar price.

Pixel Watch 4 Design rumours

Back in April, prolific gadget leaker OnLeaks revealed the supposed render of the Pixel Watch 4. Sharing the findings with 91 Mobiles, the Pixel Watch 4 looks pretty similar to its predecessor, with the same circular watch face and slim design.

Google Pixel Watch 3. Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)

On closer inspection however, you’ll notice some key differences. Firstly, the Pixel Watch 4 features two new buttons on the side of the watch, which the Pixel Watch 3 doesn’t have. At the time of writing, we aren’t sure what the function of these buttons are.

91 Mobiles also notes that the Watch 4 is “said to be thicker” at 14.3mm compared to the Wath 3’s 12.3mm. It’s believed this extra thickness is said to house a larger battery, which would be an impressive upgrade.

Although we found the Pixel Watch 3’s battery to be an improvement on its predecessor and consistent, considering the likes of the Garmin Vivoactive 6 can last up to 14 days, the Pixel Watch 4 could do with an improvement.

Pixel Watch 4 Smart Features and Software rumours

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given Gemini is built into the Pixel 9 series, it’s hotly anticipated that Google’s AI chatbot and assistant will also be integrated into the upcoming Pixel Watch 6.

As reported by 9to5 Google back at the start of the year, it was discovered that the Wear OS 6 beta, which should be found on the Watch 4, mentions Gemini within its code.

Wear OS 6 design. Image Credit: Google

Pixel Watch 4 battery rumours

As touched upon earlier, the Pixel Watch 4 is slightly thicker than its predecessor and it’s strongly expected to mean the smartwatch will boast a larger battery. While the Pixel Watch 3 saw some improvement, and we found it could last for up to 48 hours on a single charge, it still undoubtedly falls short against its competitors.

OnLeaks also suggests the Pixel Watch 4 is missing the four charging pins at its back, which could mean it might support wireless charging. While we don’t know how fast its wireless charging is, we think it’s always a good addition to have when you need to top up in a pinch.

        Opinion

Considering the Google Pixel Watch 3 saw much needed improvements from its predecessors, the Pixel Watch 4 should hopefully build upon this further. We’d especially love to see the Pixel Watch 4 offer a longer battery life, especially as the Pixel Watch 3 still falls far behind similarly priced competitors.

The proposed inclusion of Gemini will also be a useful tool for receiving quick and easy answers while you’re on the move too, and should be a welcome replacement for Google Assistant too.

It may feel like only yesterday the Pixel Watch 3 was released, yet we’re still looking forward to…

[3160
1685,53,16,15
0":"post-242911","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-gadgets","8":"tag-gadgets","9":"tag-technology","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
