Part of the Albert Dock was evacuated on Saturday night after a blaze broke out at a restaurant. Emergency services were called to The Botanist, at the Albert Dock<\/a>, at around 10pm.<\/p>\n The Britannia Pavilion at the dock was evacuated because of the blaze which started in the boiler room of the popular restaurant due to an electrical fault. Nobody was injured in the fire.<\/p>\n A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said crews were on the scene at 22.03pm. Four fire engines<\/a> and one aerial appliance were used due to the affected building ‘being a high rise construction’. The fire, which took hold in the boiler room, was dealt with by two firefighters<\/a> wearing breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.<\/p>\n Cordons were put in place and the fire was extinguished shortly after. Utilities to the property were isolated and a precautionary search of the first floor was undertaken. MFRS <\/a>crews ventilated the property and the incident was scaled down.<\/p>\n When the ECHO<\/a> arrived at the scene the fire was out and the restaurant seemingly evacuated with members of the public standing outside close to the cordon.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the New World Trading Company (NWTC), which owns the Botanist, said: “We are aware of an incident that took place at our Royal Albert Dock restaurant in Liverpool on Saturday evening (5 July) in which the unit and Britannia Pavilion was evacuated because of an electrical fire in the boiler room.<\/p>\n “No customers or staff were injured in the fire, however we are treating this incident seriously with a thorough investigation of the incident with our team, Dock estate team and the local fire brigade.
