As excitement built towards Kyogo Furuhashi’s impending transfer to Birmingham City<\/a>, Jordan James was compelled to take to social media to deny any knowledge of the situation.<\/p>\n

Former Blues midfielder James was a team-mate of the Japanese international\u2019s at Ligue 1 outfit Rennes and a couple of weeks ago he posted on X: “Just to make it clear, don\u2019t have a clue about the Kyogo rumours, what a legend though.”<\/p>\n

Clearly the rumours had substance, the former Celtic man signed a three-year contract and moves to St Andrew\u2019s @Knighthead Park after just six months in France.<\/p>\n

Those six months saw him play just six games in the French league after a managerial change went against him,<\/a> within days of his arrival.<\/p>\n

However, even though he only spent 73 minutes on the pitch with James<\/a>, the 20-year-old has once again taken to social media and has been a little more forthcoming.<\/p>\n

Responding to confirmation of Kyogo\u2019s transfer<\/a> James wrote on Instagram: \u201cWhat a guy, all the best brother\u2019.<\/p>\n

James left Blues last summer having played 105 games for Blues, scoring ten goals. He made 25 appearances for Rennes in what was a topsy-turvy first campaign.<\/a><\/p>\n

Kyogo arrives to huge fanfare, as the sixth signing of an increasingly exciting transfer window, one that has seen James Beadle and Tommy Doyle arrive on loan, while another former Blue Demarai Gray, Phil Neumann and Bright Osayi-Samuel have also joined.<\/p>\n
