West Midlands Police were called to an altercation on Bridge Road, at the junction with Anthony Road, in Alum Rock, at around 5.30pm, on Saturday, July 5<\/p>\n

A Birmingham taxi driver was injured in a ‘road rage altercation’ as police launched a probe.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> were called to Bridge Road<\/a>, at the junction with Anthony Road, in Alum Rock, at around 5.30pm, yesterday, Saturday, July 5.<\/p>\n

The force said the taxi driver was punched by a man from a second car, a white Toyota Avensis, which then left the scene.<\/p>\n

The taxi driver was taken to hospital, but thankfully his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

Police continue to hunt the driver of the second car.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n

A police spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: “We’re investigating after a taxi driver was injured in Alum Rock after an altercation involving two men yesterday evening (Saturday).<\/p>\n

“Officers were alerted by colleagues from the ambulance service to the incident at the junction of Bridge Road and Anthony Road at just after 5.30pm.<\/p>\n

“We understand that the taxi driver was punched by a man from a second car, a white Toyota Avensis, which then left the scene.<\/p>\n

“The taxi driver was treated by paramedics before taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

“Investigations are continuing to establish the exact circumstances and trace the second driver.<\/p>\n
