MUSIC lovers heading to TRNSMT are set for scorching weather.<\/p>\n

Forecasters say the country’s soggy summer is set to dry up \u2013 heralding a heatwave for the music festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thousands of fans will head to the city next weekend to see big names like 50 Cent<\/a>, Snow Patrol<\/a> and Biffy Clyro.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a far cry from the weather at last year\u2019s event when revellers had to deal with wind<\/p>\n

The BBC Weather Service is predicting day-long rays and highs of 25C (77F) for Glasgow Green on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Met Office definition of a \u2018heatwave\u2019 is when the mercury breaks 25C for three days in succession.<\/p>\n

Met Office<\/a> forecaster Jonathan Vautrey says the settled conditions are a result of the \u2018Azores High\u2019 where warm air arrives here from the South Atlantic via France<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said: “It\u2019s turning drier in the south west because we have high pressure beginning to build its way in from the Azores.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile there is the possibility of fronts slipping into Scotland<\/a> and Northern Ireland over the next few days, this high looks as if it will build in more widely across the UK, midweek onwards.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat will lead to fewer showers, more sunny spells and also climbing temperatures.\u201d<\/p>\n

American rapper<\/a> 50 Cent is the headliner on Friday night and is expected to roll out hits such s In Da Club and Candy Shope.<\/p>\n

While the following night, Kilmarnock\u2019s own Biffy Clyro<\/a> will top the bill while Ireland\u2019s Snow Patrol will close things the following night.<\/p>\n

Other promising highlights include Gracie Abrams and Fontaines D.C.<\/p>\n

Drivers<\/a> are being urged to avoid the area with several road closures in place while a major\u00a0 police<\/a> safety<\/a> operation<\/a> will also get underway.<\/p>\n
