With grey skies over Edinburgh on Sunday, residents might be wondering where the summer <\/a>sun has gone.<\/p>\n

According to the Met Office<\/a>, warmer days are right around the corner. While rain persists overnight on July 6, blue skies are set to arrive on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Forecasters have suggested temperatures will reach 20C by late afternoon on July 7. Moving through the week, and residents <\/a>can expect a balmy 27C on Friday.<\/p>\n

In between, some clouds will cover the city over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. However, warmer temperatures are still expected.<\/p>\n

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Dry with sunny spells at first, then clouds building during the morning.<\/p>\n

“A scattering of showers possible in the afternoon, but staying dry for most. Light winds. Maximum temperature 19C.<\/p>\n

“Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Ridge of high pressure will bring mostly dry and settled weather with sunny spells. Becoming warmer with mostly light winds.”<\/p>\n

The sunny spell will stretch into Saturday, with another day of clear skies and bright sun. Temperatures will reach 25C, with a UV index of six in the early afternoon.<\/p>\n
