{"id":243468,"date":"2025-07-06T19:58:15","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T19:58:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/243468\/"},"modified":"2025-07-06T19:58:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T19:58:15","slug":"iran-demands-accountability-for-israel-and-us-after-war-of-aggression-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/243468\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran demands accountability for Israel and US after \u2018war of aggression\u2019 | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran\u2019s military, nuclear and civilian sites, killing at least 935 people.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that if Israel is not held accountable for its attack on Iran, \u201cthe whole region and beyond will suffer\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe US-Israeli attacks on our nuclear facilities were in stark violation of NPT [the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/6\/17\/what-is-the-npt-and-why-has-iran-threatened-to-pull-out-of-the-treaty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty<\/a>] and the UNSC Resolution 2231 that has endorsed Iran\u2019s peaceful nuclear programme in 2015 by consensus,\u201d Araghchi said in a speech at the BRICS summit in Brazil, cited by state-run Press TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe US\u2019s subsequent involvement in this aggression by targeting Iran\u2019s peaceful nuclear installations has left no doubt as to the full complicity of the American government in Israel\u2019s war of aggression against Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iran won the support of fellow BRICS+ nations meeting in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, with the bloc condemning the recent Israeli and US air strikes that hit military, nuclear and other targets.<\/p>\n<p>The 11-nation grouping said the attacks \u201cconstitute a violation of international law\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe condemn the military strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran since 13 June 2025,\u201d leaders said in a summit statement, without naming the United States or Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe further express serious concern over deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure and peaceful nuclear facilities,\u201d the bloc added.<\/p>\n<p>The declaration is a diplomatic victory for Tehran, which has received limited regional or global support after a 12-day bombing campaign by the Israeli military that culminated in US strikes on Iran\u2019s nuclear facilities at Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan.<\/p>\n<p>Israel launched the surprise attack on Iran\u2019s military, nuclear, and civilian sites on June 13, killing at least 935 people.
