Tour de France<\/a><\/p>\n The Belgian’s oft-rumoured exit from Soudal-Quick Step is again the talk of the Tour.<\/p>\n Kristof Ramon, Gruber Images, Cor Vos<\/p>\n Remco Evenepoel wants out at Soudal-Quick Step before his contract expires at the end of 2026. Multiple sources close to the discussions, who were granted anonymity to protect their positions, have confirmed to Escape Collective that the 25-year-old double Olympic champion has opened talks with Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe about joining the German squad.\u00a0<\/p>\n One source familiar with Evenepoel\u2019s thinking indicated the rider will inform Soudal-Quick Step of his intention to exit after the Tour de France wraps up at the end of July, while others suggest discussions are underway already.<\/p>\n Evenepoel\u2019s valid contract, with a year and a half remaining, is a persistent hurdle. With Evenepoel wanting to leave, Soudal-Quick Step will want to recoup some of their rider\u2019s value instead of letting him walk away for free.
