<\/p>\nOasis fans have taken to social media to criticise concert-goers at the band’s highly anticipated reunion shows in Cardiff this weekend. <\/p>\n
The Gallagher brothers performed at the Principality Stadium on Friday and Saturday nights, marking their first performances together in 16 years.<\/p>\n
Controversy erupted when footage emerged of audience members sitting down during performances and failing to recognise classic Britpop anthems. <\/p>\n
The incidents have sparked fierce debate amongst fans who struggled to secure tickets for the sold-out Live ’25 tour.<\/p>\n

The reunion concerts featured a setlist packed with 90s chart-toppers including Wonderwall, Supersonic, and Don’t Look Back in Anger. <\/p>\n
Support acts included Cast and Richard Ashcroft of The Verve, who warmed up the crowd of more than 75,000 each night.<\/p>\n
One fan posted a TikTok video on Saturday night showing sections of the stadium audience seated whilst watching the performance. She panned across the crowd, capturing people “blankly” looking at the stage.<\/p>\n
The fan captioned her clip: “Why is everyone sat down – this is who you lost tickets to btw,” accompanied by a crying emoji. The video sparked immediate debate on social media.<\/p>\n

The reunion gig marked the first time Noel and Liam Gallagher have performed together since 2009<\/p>\n

Some viewers supported her frustration, with one commenting: “Why is no one singing! I wasn’t sat down. <\/p>\n
“Stood up singing loud and proud as everyone should have been for the struggle it was to get tickets.”<\/p>\n
Another wrote: “Real fans of oasis missed out so people can come and sit down at a concert,” while third added: “WHY IS IT SO QUIET.”<\/p>\n
Perhaps more controversial was an incident during Friday’s opening night when a concert-goer was filmed using the music app Shazam to identify Bitter Sweet Symphony during Richard Ashcroft’s support set. <\/p>\n
The Verve’s 1997 hit has been described by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the greatest songs of all time.<\/p>\n
The moment was captured on video and shared on a TikTok account dedicated to Oasis and Richard Ashcroft. <\/p>\n
The fan who recorded the incident captioned the clip: “Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time.”<\/p>\n
The video prompted angry responses from fans who had missed out on tickets. One person commented: “Seriously! I couldn’t get a ticket because of these people.”<\/p>\n
Another said: “This is the people who got our tickets,” while someone else added: “This is who I lost my tickets too. And there’s real fans from the 90’s that couldn’t get tickets.”<\/p>\n

Another argued: “I would be seating too – appreciating and taking it all in. Standing and jumping about isn’t the only way to enjoy it.”<\/p>\n
Others questioned whether standing was necessary for particular songs. One fan asked: “What are they meant to do, it’s difficult to dance to Cast No Shadow.”<\/p>\n
