Noel Gallagher<\/a>\u2019s ex-wife Meg Mathews has \u201cset it straight\u201d after being seen leaving Oasis<\/a>\u2019 first reunion gig early in Cardiff on Friday (July 4).<\/p>\n

The Britpop icons\u00a0ended a 16-year absence and made a triumphant return to the stage<\/a>\u00a0on Friday night (July 4) at Cardiff\u2019s Principality Stadium in front of over 70,000 fans.<\/p>\n

Mathews, who was married to the guitarist and songwriter from 1997 to 2001 and is the mother of his daughter Anai\u0308s, was in attendance at the show, but was seen leaving the stadium during \u2018Wonderwall\u2019 in the band\u2019s encore.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, she took to Instagram to clear up tabloid speculation that she picked that moment to leave because that song \u2013 which Noel has said was written about her \u2013 was too much for her to listen to.<\/p>\n

She wrote: \u201c5 stars, loved every minute thank you Oasis\u2026you were brilliant.\u201d She went on to say that it was \u201cworth the countdown\u201d, before adding: \u201cAnd to all the F**king papers I left before the encore as I have left many a stadium at the end and it\u2019s carnage\u2026..But yes I could hear \u2018Wonderwall\u2019 as I walked to my car! Happy now..\u201d<\/p>\n

Anai\u0308s Gallagher was also in attendance in Cardiff on Friday, posting on her own Instagram that \u201cit\u2019s good to be back\u201d, referencing the lyrics to the band\u2019s opening song \u2018Hello\u2019.<\/p>\n

Opening the second Cardiff show, Noel and Liam walked on stage hand in hand, as they had done the previous night, before bowing to each other. On night one, both\u00a0brothers took turns poking fun at Ticketmaster\u2019s dynamic ticket pricing system<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 something they\u2019ve\u00a0publicly denied knowing anything about<\/a>. The opening gig\u00a0also included a tribute to late Liverpool star Diogo Jota<\/a>\u00a0during a performance of \u2018Live Forever\u2019. Jota\u00a0was killed in a car crash on Thursday (July 03) at just 28 years old<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0gave the historic night one gig five stars<\/a>,\u00a0in a review that read<\/a>: \u201cAfter a \u201890s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century. Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oasis next play five homecoming shows at Manchester\u2019s Heaton Park, with\u00a0seven nights at London\u2019s Wembley Stadium<\/a>\u00a0to come, as well as stops in Edinburgh and Dublin. Later on the\u00a0Oasis Live \u201925\u00a0trek, they\u2019ll head to\u00a0North America<\/a>,\u00a0South America<\/a>,\u00a0Australia<\/a>,\u00a0South Korea and Japan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
