{"id":244447,"date":"2025-07-07T05:12:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T05:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/244447\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T05:12:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T05:12:13","slug":"hamilton-says-his-ferrari-was-the-most-difficult-car-ive-driven-in-these-conditions-%c2%b7-racefans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/244447\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamilton says his Ferrari was &#8220;the most difficult car I&#8217;ve driven in these conditions&#8221; \u00b7 RaceFans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.racefans.net\/lewis-hamilton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> said he wants talks with Ferrari\u2019s F1 car designers after his struggles in today\u2019s rain-hit British Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>He finished fourth in the race after being unable to catch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.racefans.net\/nico-hulkenberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nico Hulkenberg\u2019s<\/a> Sauber, which took the final podium position. \u201cThat was the most difficult car I\u2019ve driven here, in these conditions,\u201d he told media including RaceFans afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton lost several positions due to the timing of his first pit stop but was able to regain many of them, passing the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.racefans.net\/pierre-gasly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pierre Gasly<\/a> and Lance Stroll. However he made his final pit stop to take slick tyres earlier than many other drivers and lost time sliding off the track at one point.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just struggled to keep up,\u201d he said. \u201cThe tyres dropped off massively. The car was unbelievably tricky to drive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think ultimately I learnt a lot today. There\u2019s lots to take from the day, it\u2019s only my second time driving in the wet in this car and I can\u2019t even express to you how hard it is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not a car that likes those conditions. But as I said, having lots of data to take from this, I might just sit down with the people that are designing the car for next year because there\u2019s elements of this car that cannot go into the following year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although the track conditions dried out towards the end of the race, Hamilton said his car\u2019s handling did not get much more predictable. \u201cNot particularly,\u201d he said. \u201cI mean, a little bit more \u2013 when it was fully dry at the end, that obviously means you\u2019ve got lots of grip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut even then you saw I went wide, I nearly snapped and spun at turn 11 many times.
