{"id":244972,"date":"2025-07-07T10:02:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T10:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/244972\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T10:02:19","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T10:02:19","slug":"lewis-hamilton-gets-david-croft-a-part-in-f1-movie-with-brad-pitt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/244972\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis Hamilton gets David Croft a part in F1 movie with Brad Pitt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Justin Dealey &amp; Danny Fullbrook<\/p>\n<p>BBC News, Hertfordshire<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/grey-placeholder.png\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dkIvM hide-when-no-script\"\/><img decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/a8e79200-58ec-11f0-852a-fb4f43c1b4cc.jpg.webp.webp\" loading=\"eager\" alt=\"Getty Images Brad Pitt, with a shaven head and grey beard, is stood next to Lewis Hamilton in front of branding for the F1 movie\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dvfjxj\"\/>Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Lewis Hamilton is an executive producer on the new Brad Pitt film<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Racing commentator David Croft has credited racer Lewis Hamilton for getting him a part in the film F1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Speaking ahead of the British Grand Prix in Silverstone the broadcaster explained how Hamilton, who like him is from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, insisted he was part of the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Filmmakers had wanted to use actors to deliver commentary during racing sequences, but Hamilton had pushed to use Croft and Martin Brundle instead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">He said: &#8220;It was Lewis Hamilton who came up with the idea and I&#8217;ve said to him he could be my agent anytime he wants.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">At the premiere in New York in June, Croft introduced himself to Brad Pitt &#8211; the film&#8217;s star &#8211; who recognised him and told him the two commentators &#8220;legitimise everything we do in this movie&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">At the London premiere on 23 June Croft said he scored &#8220;dad points&#8221; by introducing his son to the movie star, who did not believe the two knew one another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">He laughed: &#8220;I said, &#8216;James, this is Brad.
