It\u2019s been clear for a while<\/a> that Google is bringing Gemini to Wear OS, with the company even confirming <\/a>as much earlier this year. But we\u2019ve still been waiting for the first release, and it seems that\u2019s coming with Samsung\u2019s Galaxy Watch 8 series, as leaked materials show Gemini on the watch.<\/p>\n

Ahead of Samsung\u2019s Unpacked event later this week, leaks keep flowing. Over the holiday weekend we saw new hands-on leaks of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, as well as a major Galaxy Watch 8 leak. <\/p>\n

In a handful of posts on Bluesky, Quandt offers up new details on Samsung\u2019s launch, but one particular point of interest is a pair of Galaxy Watch 8 promo images<\/a>, one of which shows Gemini.<\/p>\n

The side profile of Samsung\u2019s new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic offers another look at the redesigned hardware, but Gemini is really the center of attention here. The UI, as expected, looks identical to Google Assistant for Wear OS with a \u201cAsk Google Gemini\u201d prompt visible. There\u2019s no further context added on what the app can do, but this image alone tells us that Google is seemingly launching Gemini for Wear OS starting with Samsung\u2019s new watches.<\/p>\n

The other image shows the base Galaxy Watch 8 with some of the new pill-shaped UI elements used in One UI 8 Watch.<\/p>\n

After likely debuting on the Galaxy Watch 8 series, it\u2019s unclear what Google has in store for Gemini on other Wear OS devices. Pixel Watch seems like an obvious extension, though Samsung\u2019s earlier launch sort of deflates what would be a welcome launch feature for Google\u2019s next Pixel Watch release. We previously found that Gemini will roll out as a simple app update.<\/a> Google also announced that Gemini <\/a>on Wear OS would feature improved natural language understanding compared to Assistant, as well as supporting extensions and apps in Gemini.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Watch 8 series is set to debut at Samsung\u2019s Unpacked event on July 9.<\/p>\n
