{"id":245539,"date":"2025-07-07T15:06:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T15:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/245539\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T15:06:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T15:06:09","slug":"eu-pushes-for-midweek-us-trade-deal-even-as-washington-plays-for-time-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/245539\/","title":{"rendered":"EU pushes for midweek US trade deal, even as Washington plays for time \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brussels expects Trump to group America\u2019s trade partners into three categories, associating tariff levels to Washington\u2019s perception of progress in the talks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/eu-us-skeleton-trade-deal-10-percent-tariff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as POLITICO first reported<\/a>.\u00a0 A first category would include countries with whom Washington has already reached a provisional agreement \u2014 such as the U.K. and Vietnam \u2014 and could benefit from additional tariff relief.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Universal tariffs \u2013 as announced on April 2 \u2013 would kick back in for countries with no agreement but where talks are progressing in good faith.
