{"id":245829,"date":"2025-07-07T17:37:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T17:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/245829\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T17:37:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T17:37:13","slug":"sunderland-ready-to-spend-100m-on-signings-after-deals-agreed-stefan-borson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/245829\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunderland ready to spend \u00a3100m on signings after deals agreed\u2019 \u2013 Stefan Borson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Dreyfus-Le-Bris-1140x641.jpg\" class=\"attachment-single-feature size-single-feature wp-post-image\" alt=\"Kyril Lous-Dreyfus Regis Le Bris, Sunderland\" layout=\"fill\"  style=\"object-position: 50% 50%\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Credit: Imago\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/StefanBorsonprofile2-150x150.png\" width=\"64\" height=\"64\" alt=\"Stefan Borson\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>   <\/p>\n<p> Mon 7 July 2025 15:50, UK <\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunderland are ready to spend \u00a3100million on new signings after deals have already been completed at the Stadium of Light.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Black Cats beat Sheffield United 2-1 in the Championship play-off final to book their place in the top flight. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Football Insider <\/strong>revealed on 29 May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/exclusive-sunderlands-big-transfer-plan-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sunderland\u2019s hierarchy would make \u201cbig\u201d funds available<\/a> for a summer transfer overhaul. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/regis-le-bris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regis Le Bris<\/a>\u2019s side have already secured the permanent signings of Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki, with those deals setting the club back more than \u00a360million. <\/p>\n<p>Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told\u00a0<strong>Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0Sunderland are likely to spend a big chunk of the broadcast money they will receive after securing their return to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/premier-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Borson previously told <strong>Football Insider<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/sunderland-in-line-to-pocket-extra-150m-stefan-borson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sunderland\u2019s revenue could increase to around \u00a3150million<\/a> next season. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s turnover improved from \u00a335.5million in 2022-23 to \u00a338.2million in 2023-24.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Regis-Le-Bris-Sunderland-1024x576.png\" alt=\"Regis Le Bris Sunderland\" class=\"wp-image-658709\" \/>Regis Le Bris is hoping to keep Sunderland in the Premier League next season (Credit: Imago)<strong>Sunderland to pay Premier League \u2018entry fee\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Borson insisted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tag\/sunderland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sunderland<\/a> are likely to spend the \u00a3100m \u201centry fee\u201d as they look to remain in the top flight next season. <\/p>\n<p>He told <strong>Football Insider<\/strong>: \u201cWell, it\u2019s hard to know the numbers really because we don\u2019t have any reference point for Sunderland. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t got a recent time they\u2019ve been in the Premier League, so we don\u2019t know what they would generate from their commercial side and from their matchday, so we\u2019re kind of slightly in the dark.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they\u2019ll look at it slightly the other way, which is if we don\u2019t spend let\u2019s say \u00a3100million, we are not going to survive, so we\u2019ve got a choice. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou either pay the entry fee of \u00a3100million, which is a big chunk of what you\u2019re going to get from the broadcast and give yourself at least a hope of surviving, or you go very low key and you do a Luton and you sort of keep it very minimalist. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou say, we know we\u2019re up for a season, we know we\u2019re going to go straight back down, but we\u2019re going to bank the profit.
