The historic Sheerness High Street clock tower was included after a Rose Street Primary School pupil asked for it to replace the lighthouse design.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, artists’ drawings unveiled the final style of the course, which has nods to the Island\u2019s aviation innovation heritage, such as the Wright Brothers’ plane.<\/p>\n
It will cost a total of \u00a3429,425.91 and is part of a \u00a320 million regeneration scheme, which was awarded to Swale council by the government as part of its Levelling Up fund.<\/p>\n

It said: \u201cTake a sneak peek at the soon-to-open adventure golf in Beachfields!<\/p>\n
\u201cA large replica of the SS Montgomery is the centrepiece of the exciting new course, which features 18 holes celebrating the unique heritage and landmarks of the Island.<\/p>\n
\u201cLocal people and school children contributed to the design, which is being installed alongside the soon-to-be extended and improved leisure centre, part of our government-funded Sheerness Revival project.\u201d<\/p>\n
The council has since told KentOnline that the golf course will open to the public on Wednesday, July 23.<\/p>\n

Planning documents say it will be open 10am to 4pm from November to March, and 10am to 8pm from April to October.<\/p>\n
Cllr Monique Bonney (Swale Ind), chairwoman of the economy and property committee, said: \u201cThe adventure golf will be a great place for friends and families to meet and have fun outdoors, yet this is only a small part of our wider Sheerness Revival project.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeachfields Park has been a leisure destination for more than 100 years \u2013 the beach, aquarena pool, and funfair drawing thousands to Sheerness over the years.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new adventure golf course will add another chapter in that storied history.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur ambitious project is also aiming to improve education, employability, health and leisure on the Island through the improvement of our infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sheerness Revival scheme includes the completion of three projects: The regeneration of Beachfields, an extension of Sheppey College and works at Masters House.<\/p>\n
The Sheppey Leisure Complex is set to have a two-storey side extension and an expanded GP facility on the ground floor.<\/p>\n
