{"id":247684,"date":"2025-07-08T09:53:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T09:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/247684\/"},"modified":"2025-07-08T09:53:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T09:53:10","slug":"the-search-is-on-for-the-fourth-wales-home-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/247684\/","title":{"rendered":"The search is on for the fourth Wales\u2019 Home of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Welsh TV favourite and Radio 2 presenter Owain Wyn Evans returns alongside interior de-signer Mandy Watkins from Anglesey and Cardiff-based architectural designer Glen Thomas.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Together, they\u2019ll be touring every corner of the country in search of beautifully designed, cleverly thought-out and characterful homes that truly reflect the people who live in them.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>(Image: Channel 4)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  From terraces to townhouses, converted barns to bold new builds, the series will once again celebrate the creativity, individuality and warmth that turns a house into a home.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Each week, the judges will visit three homes within a region of Wales, scoring them on architectural merit, distinctive design, and original style. Regional winners will go through to the grand final, where one standout property will be crowned the next Wales\u2019 Home of the Year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A spokesman for the show said: &#8220;This year, we\u2019re especially keen to reflect the full diversity of Wales; its people, landscapes, and homes. Whether your house is traditional or modern, big or small, in the city, countryside or somewhere in between. Wales is full of personality, we want to see it.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;And remember, homes don\u2019t need to be award-winning architectural masterpieces to take part. We\u2019re looking for real homes, of all shapes and styles, that tell a story and represent the people who live in them.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Last year, a\u00a0stunning detached 1930s build in Wrexham blew the judges away.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leaderlive.co.uk\/news\/24773596.wrexham-home-scores-high-bbc-wales-home-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lyndon House received high scores<\/a> from the judges who loved the property&#8217;s natural colours.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Produced by IWC Media (a Banijay UK company), filming begins this August, and the six-part series will air on BBC One Wales and BBC iPlayer later this year.\n<\/p>\n<p>  <strong>What do the judges have to say?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n  Owain Wyn Evans said: \u201cHere we go again cariads! I\u2019m absolutely buzzing to be back for series 4, I can\u2019t wait to explore even more gorgeous Welsh homes. From rooms that make you go \u201cwow!\u201d to clever, cosy layouts \u2014 Wales Home of the Year never ceases to amaze and impress!\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mandy Watkins said: \u201cI\u2019m so excited to be back on the hunt for another Home of the Year. I\u2019ll be looking for individuality, clever use of space, and those extra special touches that tell a story.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Glen Thomas added: \u201cI love seeing how people in Wales transform the everyday into something unique, personal and exciting.
