Sheila and Rex Hollinger designed and built the two-bedroom property overlooking St Andrews Course, in Hamilton, over 40 years ago.<\/p>\n

The house at 50 St Andrews Terrace still boasts the late couple’s original beige-patterned carpet, curved doorways, rounded walls, and wooden kitchen, as well as the customised built-in cabinetry in the lounge and master bedroom.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s daughter told OneRoof that her parents had been able to walk out of their back gate and stroll to the first hole. \u201cTheir home also became a social spot as they could wave to and chat with their friends as they walked down the fairway,\u201d she told OneRoof.<\/p>\n

Hamilton Golf Club is four doors down from the home, which was handy for Rex, who was a long-serving member and even has a bench seat named in his honour there. Sheila was also a regular and was often involved in the organisation of various club events.<\/p>\n

Lodge listing Bill Burnett said he has been inundated with calls since the property hit the market last week.<\/p>\n

There were only four houses overlooking the golf course, and none had been listed for sale in the last 15 years, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are just generally curious. Homes like this don’t come up for sale that often, and 50 St Andrews Terrace has a lot of potential for development.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he thought the house would likely be bowled and replaced by the next owner, there was also an opportunity to extend the house and transform it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are lots of different ways you can tackle the property and capture the potential that it\u2019s got.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burnett said the initial price feedback had been anywhere between $950,000 and north of $1.1 million.<\/p>\n
