Bristol is set to be hotter than Ibiza, Barcelona, Rome and Tenerife as temperatures soar this weekend.<\/p>\n

The city is set to hit highs of 32\u00b0C around 4pm on Saturday, July 12, making it hotter than a number of cities across Europe.<\/p>\n

Forecasters at the Devon-based Met Office have predicted Bristol to reach temperatures in the low 30s later this week, which is around 10\u00b0C hotter than the yearly average.<\/p>\n

Thursday and Friday will start relatively warm, reaching 21\u00b0C by 10am.<\/p>\n

By the time the weekend hits, the city will be baking in 30\u00b0C heat.<\/p>\n

Saturday (July 12) will reach 24\u00b0C by 10 and will hit 31\u00b0C around 4pm, remaining at 30\u00b0C until 7pm.<\/p>\n

Sunday will be similarly hot, with highs of 31\u00b0C around mid afternoon.<\/p>\n

While Bristol is set to be baking, not everywhere will see the same heat as a number of popular holiday destinations will be cooler.<\/p>\n

Ibiza is forecast to reach highs of 27\u00b0C across the weekend.<\/p>\n

Tenerife will be one or two degrees cooler, with Friday peaking at 27\u00b0C, and Saturday and Sunday dropping to the mid 20s.<\/p>\n

Barcelona will be even chillier, with Friday and Saturday only reaching 26\u00b0C and 27\u00b0C on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Rome will be warmer, hitting 30\u00b0C, but will still be a few degrees cooler than Bristol.<\/p>\n

The hot and sunny weather<\/a> in Bristol will continue through to next week, as temperatures remain in the high 20s.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Holley explains: \u201cHigh pressure from the Atlantic will gradually exert its influence over the UK this week.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ll see temperatures build day-on-day, with the potential for hot conditions to become quite widespread by the end of the week and into the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Wednesday, temperatures could reach up to 28\u00b0C in parts of England, climbing to 30\u00b0C on Thursday and 32\u00b0C by Friday.<\/p>\n

“By this stage, heatwave criteria are likely to be met in parts of England and Wales, and in parts of Scotland over the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cHigh temperatures are likely to persist into the weekend, especially away from coasts with onshore winds, reaching the low 30s in portions of England and Wales, and accompanied by rising humidity and warmer nights.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis heatwave is likely to last longer than previous ones so far this summer, and affect a wider area, with the focus for some of the highest temperatures displaced across more central and western areas at times.”<\/p>\n

South West weather forecast:<\/p>\n

Today: A fine day with plenty of lengthy spells of sunshine, though cloudier at times in the west with sunnier intervals. Feeling pleasantly warm in gentle winds. Maximum temperature 23 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Tonight: Remaining settled this evening with late sunshine. Turning cloudier overnight with low cloud along the coasts and some drizzle, but most places dry. Winds staying light. Minimum temperature 12 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Wednesday: Early cloud gradually breaking to leave sunnier spells into the afternoon, though low cloud may linger along the coasts. Feeling very warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 27 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: High pressure dominating with plenty of strong sunshine by day and clear skies overnight.
