Callum Wilson is attracting interest from Premier League clubs following the news that he is leaving Newcastle United, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wilson, 33, confirmed his departure from the Magpies<\/a> on Monday (7 June), after negotiations between the club and the player over a new contract broke down.<\/p>\n

Sources say that a number of Premier League and promotion-chasing Championship sides are in for the former England international, as well as some clubs abroad.<\/p>\n

Last season, the striker started just two top-flight games for Eddie Howe\u2019s side and didn\u2019t manage to score a single league goal.<\/p>\n

Since his move from Bournemouth<\/a> to St James\u2019 Park for around \u00a320million in the summer of 2020, the 33-year-old has scored 49 goals in 130 appearances.<\/p>\n

However, the forward\u2019s time on Tyneside was ravaged by injuries however, which often restricted his game time and prevented him from building momentum.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In recent years, Wilson<\/a> has had to play second fiddle to Isak, and with the Swede set to stay at Newcastle <\/a>this summer, he has moved on to improve his playing chances.<\/p>\n

Despite his recent injury record, the Englishman has shown his ability to find the back of the net, which is the reason why there is so much interest in his services.<\/p>\n

The Magpies are on the hunt for central defensive reinforcements this summer\u00a0but have so far failed to make much progress in their bid to sign Crystal Palace\u2019s\u00a0Marc Guehi<\/a>, with Balerdi a possible alternative.<\/p>\n

The Argentina international is\u00a0Marseille<\/a>\u2018s captain and the Ligue 1 side are reluctant to lose Balerdi, and sources have told\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0that Newcastle would have to pay over \u00a330m in order to sign him.<\/p>\n

Juventus are also keen on the 26-year-old\u00a0despite spending \u00a320m to sign Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle on a permanent deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n
