A rumor that circulated online in late June and early July 2025 claimed Britain’s Prince William stripped a royal family title from Queen Camilla’s grandson for bullying William’s son, Prince George.<\/p>\n

Searches of Bing<\/a>, DuckDuckGo<\/a>, Google<\/a> and Yahoo<\/a> revealed users primarily sharing this rumor in numerous<\/a> YouTube<\/a> videos<\/a>. Others also shared<\/a> the matter on<\/a> Facebook<\/a>, Threads<\/a>, TikTok<\/a> and<\/a> X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For example, on June 6, the Investing Mania YouTube channel (@investingmania1718) posted a video<\/a> (archived<\/a>) with the title, “Prince William STRIPS Royal Title From Camilla’s Grandson After CAUGHT Bullying Prince George.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The video, receiving nearly 200,000 views, featured a text description reading as follows:<\/p>\n

Prince George came home in tears after being bullied by Camilla’s grandson at a royal family event. What followed was explosive: Prince William stripped the boy of any future royal title\u2014and banned him from events involving his children. Camilla is furious, Charles is torn, and the monarchy has just changed forever.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, those same searches of the four search-engine websites also found no news media outlets reporting about William stripping anyone of a royal title. Rather, the rumor was simply the latest in a long line of YouTube videos featuring fabricated stories and artificial intelligence (AI)-generated voice narration about prominent figures in the entertainment business and politics \u2014\u00a0as well as anyone associated with the royal family \u2014 all for the goal of YouTube monetization via ad revenue. Facebook users sharing article<\/a> links<\/a> in the comments under posts sought ad revenue from their blogs, as well.<\/p>\n

The Investing Mania YouTube channel’s video displayed an AI-generated \u2014 meaning completely fake \u2014 thumbnail image depicting an angry William facing down a similarly angry Camilla, along with a boy loudly bullying a crying George. The image read, “Breaking: 5 Minutes Ago.” The YouTube clip’s narrator did not specify a name for the boy, only repeating “Camilla’s grandson.”<\/p>\n

The Investing Mania channel did not feature any email contact methods, nor did it include disclaimers about publishing untrue content, whether during the video, in the clip’s description or with its bio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

YouTube creators publishing similar content also uploaded other ad-filled videos in June featuring different members of the royal family alongside fabricated title-stripping rumors. For example, one of those video<\/a> (archived<\/a>) titles read, “William STRIPS Royal Title After Camilla’s Granddaughter CAUGHT Bullying Princess Charlotte BADLY.” If any such news had truly occurred, news media outlets around the world would have rushed to cover the matter.<\/p>\n
