{"id":248470,"date":"2025-07-08T16:47:16","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T16:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/248470\/"},"modified":"2025-07-08T16:47:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T16:47:16","slug":"improvements-to-the-a370-flax-bourton-begin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/248470\/","title":{"rendered":"Improvements to the A370 Flax Bourton begin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The work, which will be completed in phases, will see improvements to the stretch between Backwell House and the property named Old Angel Cottage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As part of North Somerset Council\u2019s ongoing commitment to improving the district\u2019s roads, the council will be carrying out road maintenance works including:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Renewing the highway drainage system\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining existing highway drainage system\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Replacing and repairing damaged ironworks.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Works are required to maintain the integrity of the road and add resilience to the drainage network by mitigating road flooding.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The first phase of work will be completed using multi-way traffic lights between Monday 7 July and Thursday 7 August.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The lights will be in place 24-hours a day, with works taking place between 8am and 5pm during the week. The work will be carried out from the entrance to Backwell House to Castle Farm and all traffic lights will be removed during the Bristol Balloon Fiesta.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The second phase, which will require a full road closure outside the graveyard, will begin on Monday 11 August and last for five days.
