{"id":248629,"date":"2025-07-08T18:10:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T18:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/248629\/"},"modified":"2025-07-08T18:10:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T18:10:17","slug":"manchester-united-fans-rally-behind-ruben-amorim-after-opposing-ineos-talks-over-amazon-documentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/248629\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester United fans rally behind Ruben Amorim after opposing Ineos talks over Amazon documentary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is gearing up for his first full Premier League season and will be doing it without TV cameras pointed in his direction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new Premier League season is just over a month away, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/ruben-amorim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruben Amorim<\/a> is looking for a real change of fortune.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/manchester-united-confirm-arrival-of-ruben-amorim-start-date-officially-announced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United appointed Amorim as Erik ten Hag\u2019s replacement<\/a> in November, but the start of his reign has been a little unconvincing.<\/p>\n<p>United finished 15th in the Premier League table, 24 points shy of the top six and 42 points away from leaders Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>Add in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/match-coverage\/five-things-learned-as-manchester-united-lose-1-0-against-tottenham-in-the-europa-league-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United\u2019s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>, and the jury is certainly still out on Amorim.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/man-united-pre-season-tour-2025-fixtures-dates-kick-off-times-and-how-to-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United open the Premier League season against Arsenal<\/a>, and Amorim really needs a strong start to quieten his doubters.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2214126514-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Ruben Amorim before Manchester United v Athletic Club in the UEFA Europa League.\" class=\"wp-image-270326\" \/>Photo by Alex Livesey \u2013 Danehouse\/Getty Images<strong>Manchester United turn down Amazon documentary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>United\u2019s full focus will be on the football, having rejected the chance to feature in a behind-the-scenes documentary series on Amazon Prime.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6477559\/2025\/07\/07\/manchester-united-amazon-documentary\/?source=twitteruk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Athletic<\/a> report that United held \u2018secret talks\u2019 with Amazon and had been negotiating the deal for \u2018several months\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>United would have raked in \u2018significantly more\u2019 than \u00a310million for the deal, and Amazon\u2019s payment would have exceeded previous agreements with Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.<\/p>\n<p>That would have been a welcome cash injection for United, but Amorim has completely shut the idea down.<\/p>\n<p>United presented the idea to Amorim, and he was \u2018not comfortable\u2019 with the potential of TV cameras intruding on his work.<\/p>\n<p>United, therefore, kiboshed the deal and refused to go ahead with the documentary series without Amorim\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manchester United fans on Amazon documentary snub<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>United fans have been taking to social media to react to the news, with many believing that Amorim has made the right decision.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the best reactions on X, with Amorim earning praise from United fans for standing firm on his beliefs\u2026<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links multi\">\n<li>Such a thing should only happen if we\u2019re successful and the dressing room is in a good state. Obviously right now, those two things are far from true. Glad Amorim opposed it, and the club obliged. It\u2019s definitely not right to do this now.<\/li>\n<li>Ruben is right. No need for any of that when we are in this state<\/li>\n<li>Why would we even consider it after last season? Surely would be something you\u2019d look at for the season after depending on this coming campaign\u2026<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019re in no position to be filming anything like this. Glad it\u2019s been stopped.<\/li>\n<li>100% the correct decision &amp; not surprised Amorim pulled the plug. A big distraction that we simply can\u2019t afford right now.<\/li>\n<li>The only people that would want to watch that car crash would be rival fans. Glad the club haven\u2019t gone through with it.<\/li>\n<li>Thank goodness Amorim opposed this.<\/li>\n<li>Amorim wants the club to be a football club, INEOS want a comedy club.<\/li>\n<li>Glad the club listened to the manager!
