Rangers are the latest club to show an interest in Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s Djeidi Gassama, who faces an uncertain future at Hillsborough due to their off-field situation. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The winger joined PSG as a teenager, and he actually played once for the European champions, before he left for the Owls in 2023<\/a> in search of regular first-team football.<\/p>\n

Since then, Gassama has been an important figure for Wednesday<\/a>, and he was particularly impressive in the previous campaign under Danny Rohl as the Yorkshire outfit secured a mid-table finish.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old was a key outlet with his pace and dribbling ability, and he ended up scoring seven goals in 43 games.<\/p>\n

Whilst they say it\u2019s unclear whether a formal bid will arrive<\/a>, he is among the targets for Russell Martin as he looks to make his mark in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Journalist Alan Biggs<\/a> has claimed there is a ‘high chance’ of this deal materialising with there no mention yet of the fee that the Scottish giants will pay the Owls for the winger.<\/p>\n

The Scottish side start their season on July 22 against Panathinaikos in a Champions League qualifier, so they have been busy adding to their squad already this summer, and further additions will be planned before that huge test.<\/p>\n

The Blades were keen on a move for Owls forward Djeidi Gassama while Chris Wilder was still in charge.<\/p>\n

Even though Gassama is frustrating at times, which is to be expected for a youngster, he is the sort of player that you enjoy watching with his pace and direct style.<\/p>\n

So, if he left, he would be missed, but you can see why clubs are trying to take advantage of the Owls\u2019 situation, with the club under a transfer embargo after Chansiri once again failed to pay wages on time<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the bigger picture, the only priority for Wednesday<\/a> is for Chansiri to sell, as that will allow them to start fresh under a new owner.<\/p>\n
