The royal family wanted to honor pride month in a special way \u2014 but not everyone appreciated the gesture.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, July 5, the royal family shared an Instagram video<\/a> of the Coldstream Guards playing Chapell Roan\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cPink Pony Club\u201d outside of Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Pride! \ud83c\udf08\ud83e\udea9\u2728,\u201d the caption read.<\/p>\n

Several people took to the comments section to applaud the royal family for openly supporting the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n

The king himself who believes strongly in God can also celebrate pride. Without any doubt or fear or prejudice. Shame millions of other people can\u2019t! \ud83c\udf08 \ud83c\udf08.\u201d<\/p>\n

While many people enjoyed the royal family celebrating pride month, others thought the royal family should not have participated due to their religious beliefs. (It should be noted that many people who identify as religious also identify as LGBTQ+.)<\/p>\n

Some even questioned the royal family\u2019s motives, with one person writing that the royals would do \u201canything to stay relevant.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the royal family has not always been supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, the new generation of royals have been vocal about their views.<\/p>\n

It hasn\u2019t been easy as they continue to mourn the queen\u2019s death and deal with their lingering issues with William\u2019s younger brother, Prince Harry, and Harry\u2019s wife, Meghan Markle. Their sense of strength and optimism should give us all encouragement to stand up to bullying wherever we see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly three years after William publicly supported the LGBTQ+ community, he opened up about how he would feel if his and Kate Middleton\u2019s<\/strong> kids came out as LGBTQ+<\/a>. (The pair, who wed in 2011, share Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been giving that some thought recently,\u201d William said while visiting the Albert Kennedy Trust in June 2019 to speak to youth left homeless because of their sexuality. \u201cI think you really don\u2019t start thinking about that until you are a parent, and I think \u2014 obviously, absolutely fine by me.\u201d<\/p>\n

His Majesty, 74, arrived to Buckingham Palace on horseback, alongside eldest son Prince William and his sister Princess Anne . After the pair conducted their formal review of the British military, they joined other members [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

William noted that the \u201cone thing\u201d he would be \u201cworried about is how \u2014 particularly [with] the roles my children fill \u2014 that is going to be interpreted and seen.\u201d<\/p>\n
