The tradition within the British Royal Family dates back to the reign of King George IV.<\/p>\n<p>King Charles\u2019s Royal Family Order debuted in June 2024 with the King\u2019s portrait painted on polymin\u2014a departure from the traditional ivory backing\u2014and resting on a pale blue ribbon.<\/p>\n<p>Each Sovereign changes the colour of their Royal Family Order. The King\u2019s is pale blue in tribute to the Order of his great-grandfather King George V.
