Leeds United are in search of a first-choice goalkeeper for the 2025\/26 Premier League season, with the position of the utmost importance and Leeds United News sources have the latest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quite simply, having a reliable goalkeeper can save you goals and save you points. Last season, Leeds United<\/a> had the inconsistent Illan Meslier lacking genuine confidence in his performances.<\/p>\n

As shown above, Sky Sports\u2019 Keith Downie has also confirmed Pope\u2019s eagerness to remain on Tyneside. Newcastle won\u2019t budge and Pope is content as second-choice next year.<\/p>\n

Leeds were linked with Djordje Petrovic<\/a> as a Pope alternative. Sunderland agreed a deal to sign Petrovic<\/a>\u00a0from Chelsea but that appears to have fallen through and he is now headed to AFC Bournemouth.<\/p>\n

Initial reports emerged regarding\u00a0Leeds\u2019 interest in Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic<\/a>\u00a0but nothing concrete until recent days where the Italian media have covered the potential transfer extensively.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s reported that Leeds have the advantage over Napoli in the race<\/a> for the 28-year-old, while Torino are already eyeing Milinkovic-Savic replacements<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More recently, it\u2019s been stated that\u00a0Leeds are pushing hard to sign Milinkovic-Savic<\/a>. Today, it was claimed that Leeds are insisting to sign Milinkovic-Savic<\/a>. He is the club\u2019s primary choice to plug the gap between the sticks.<\/p>\n

2) Lucas Perri<\/p>\n

Olympique Lyonnais\u2019\u00a0Lucas Perri could be an exciting addition<\/a>\u00a0in goal and initial reports stated that\u00a0Leeds are keen on Perri<\/a> as a priority\u00a0in a \u00a312.8 million deal this summer. <\/p>\n

However, a \u2018concrete approach\u2019 had not been made yet, with\u00a0Monaco and Neom SC also said to be watching Perri.<\/a> Others don\u2019t expect Leeds to sign Perri<\/a>, but there have been other developments since then.<\/p>\n

An English club have stepped up interest in Perri<\/a>, which is likely to be Leeds. However, he has been confirmed to Leeds United News<\/strong> as the second-choice. We also\u00a0compared Milinkovic-Savic and Perri<\/a>\u00a0and the giant Serbian came out on top statistically.<\/p>\n

3) Robin Zentner<\/p>\n

Last, but certainly not least, is the impressive Robin Zentner. The 30-year-old plays for 1. FSV Mainz 05 and he has shone in recent seasons. <\/p>\n

Interestingly,\u00a0Zentner was suggested as an option instead of Pope<\/a>\u00a0in a recent piece outlining some alternative options both domestically and elsewhere in other major European leagues.<\/p>\n

Zentner and Milinkovic-Savic have emerged as targets<\/a> in recent days and it has since been confirmed that he is the back-up target as the cheapest of the trio.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
