Blackburn Rovers are eyeing a potential move for Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s Djeidi Gassama this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Alan Nixon<\/a>, the Lancashire outfit are interested in the 21-year-old amid uncertainty surrounding many players at Hillsborough at the moment.<\/p>\n

It has been claimed that the Frenchman could be available for \u00a32.5 million, which certainly suggests that he won\u2019t be walking away from the Owls for nothing due to potential unpaid wages.<\/p>\n

Gassama contributed seven goals and one assist for Danny Rohl\u2019s side last season, with the team finishing 12th in the table.<\/p>\n

When asked about Gassama\u2019s apparent \u00a32.5 million asking price, FLW\u2019s Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> fan pundit Patrick McKenna claimed that the player should be valued at \u00a310 million.<\/p>\n

He criticised the chaos under owner Dejphon Chansiri, suggesting that a sale at that price would be a similar mistake to when Michail Antonio left the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would definitely hurt to see him go for that price because he is worth a lot more than that,\u201d McKenna<\/a> told Football League World.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a case that this price is being suggested as part of a fire sale where Chansiri is desperate to get any money in now to cling on.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s be honest, Gassama is in recent years probably one of our best prospects and with today\u2019s market and the price of players, when it came to a time looking to sell Gassama we should be looking at at least \u00a310 million, if not more.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if he went for a quarter of that price because of the horrendous mismanagement by Chansiri, it certainly would be a kick in the teeth but hardly surprising.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause making a profit on player sale is another area where we have massively failed under Chansiri.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, yeah, as it stands, I certainly do think that he will be on the move.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe may have got his wages paid, but I suppose you don\u2019t have any confirmation of that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut even if he is one of the wages paid, he\u2019s looking around him, he\u2019s seeing absolute chaos at the club, he\u2019s seeing his teammates not paid.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cOne I can think of is Michail Antonio, who went for about \u00a31 million I think and look at the solid Premier League career he went onto after that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really hope this fire sale doesn\u2019t happen, and he doesn\u2019t go for \u00a32.5 million because he is worth a lot more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gassama for \u00a32.5 million could be a great deal for Blackburn<\/p>\n

Blackburn have lost Tyrhys Dolan for nothing this summer, so being able to sign someone like Gassama at a cut-rate price could make up for that departure.<\/p>\n

It would be a massive blow for Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> to lose someone with the winger\u2019s potential.<\/p>\n

If they could at least get good value for him then that could help the financial situation, but it\u2019s unclear just how far \u00a32.5 million would even get the club in the short-term.<\/p>\n
