The first single is dropping from Jamie Lloyd\u2019s blockbuster reimagining of Evita<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 now playing at the London Palladium.<\/p>\n

Star of the show Rachel Zegler<\/a>, who plays former Argentine First Lady Eva Per\u00f3n in the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, features on the first single to be released from the production, singing Act Two opening anthem \u2018Don\u2019t Cry For Me Argentina\u2019.<\/p>\n

Alongside a studio version of the classic song, the digital version will also feature Rachel Zegler singing the song live from the balcony outside of the London Palladium \u2013 where she performs the song every night to crowds outside the theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Don\u2019t Cry For Me Argentina\u2019 single will be released on streaming, including Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music, this Friday 11 July 2025. You can pre-save the song here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The single was first released last week as an exclusive blue 7\u2033 vinyl, which is now available for purchase<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s still no news of a date for the release of the full casting recording of Evita.<\/p>\n

First-listen: Don\u2019t Cry For Me Argentina<\/p>\n

Evita<\/a><\/strong> opened at the London Palladium<\/a> last week, with near\u2011unanimous five\u2011star reviews from London critics. <\/a><\/p>\n

Directed and reimagined by Jamie Lloyd<\/strong> (Sunset Boulevard<\/a>,\u00a0A Doll\u2019s House), Evita stars Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (West Side Story, Snow White) as Eva Per\u00f3n, and Diego Andres Rodriguez<\/a><\/strong> (Sunset Boulevard) as Che.<\/p>\n

The cast also includes James Olivas<\/a><\/strong> (American Idiot) as Juan Per\u00f3n, Aaron Lee Lambert<\/a><\/strong> (Hamilton<\/a>) as Agust\u00edn Magaldi and Bella Brown<\/a><\/strong> (Hadestown<\/a>) as The Mistress \/ Alternate Eva.<\/p>\n

The Ensemble of Evita includes Carl Au, Gabriela Benedetti, Shakara Brown, Damian Buhagiar, Kyeirah D\u2019Marni, Sally Frith, DeAngelo Jones, Lucas Koch, Natasha Leaver, Michael Lin, Diant\u00e9 Lodge, Louis Mackrodt, Mireia Mambo, Mia Mullarkey, Perry O\u2019Dea, Alysha Sontae, Monica Swayne, Jon Tsouras and Harrison Wilde, with Myla Carmen, Barney Hudson, Nathan Louis-Fernand, Kirsty Anne Shaw, Ricardo Spriggs and Regan Bailey Walker as Swings. Auora Breslin, Lois Haidar, Siena Merilind-Wu and Ffion Rosalie Williams share the role of The Child.<\/p>\n
