Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez<\/a> looks to be entering the final chapter of what has been an exceptional professional career.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old from Guadalajara began his professional career way back in 2005 when he was just 15-years-old.<\/p>\n

Since entering the paid ranks, Canelo has gone on to win world titles in four weight classes, including the undisputed super-middleweight championship which he currently holds, beginning his second reign as champion on May 3 when he defeated former IBF champion William Scull in Riyadh.<\/p>\n

He has beaten a number of generational greats throughout his tenure, including the likes of Sergey Kovalev, Miguel Cotto and Gennady Golovkin, sharing the ring with \u2018GGG\u2019 on three occasions between 2017 and 2022.<\/p>\n

In an interview with former super-middleweight king Carl Froch<\/a>, Canelo, 34, said that whilst he still feels \u2018great\u2019, he expects to finally draw the curtain on his career in around three years time.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I feel great but I always say like 37-years-old I\u2019m gone from boxing, so we\u2019ll see, but that\u2019s my idea.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Mexican icon is currently in preparations for his highly anticipated showdown against fellow pound-for-pound superstar Terence Crawford, which has been described as a \u2018mega-fight\u2019 by fans and analysts alike.<\/p>\n

The modern greats are set to lock horns for Canelo\u2019s undisputed super-middleweight championship on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/a><\/p>\n
