A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a pensioner in Stockport<\/a>.<\/p>\n Judy Zussman, 93, was found dead at a property on Altrincham<\/a> Road, in Gatley, on April 16 this year.<\/p>\n In a statement issued this morning (July 9), Greater Manchester Police<\/a> confirmed a 39-year-old woman had been charged with her murder.<\/p>\n Amelia Ali, of no fixed address, is due to appear in Manchester Crown Court<\/a> tomorrow (July 10).<\/p>\n GMP says officers ‘have continued to support Judy’s family’ in the months since her death.<\/p>\n Sign up to the MEN Court newsletter here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n In a tribute issued at the time, her family said: “Judy was a much loved and devoted wife to her late husband Jack, and an adored sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.<\/p>\n “Her family meant the world to her. We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support at this tragic time. We kindly ask for privacy as we process our sad loss.”<\/p>\n Judy and her husband Jack were beloved members of the Jewish community in and around Stockport and south Manchester, who attended Menorah Synagogue.<\/p>\n Judy was a nursing sister at Manchester Royal Infirmary at the time, while Jack was a lecturer in geology at the University of Manchester<\/a> who went on to become a head of department.<\/p>\n Jack sadly died last year, around a month after his 100th birthday.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News <\/strong>WhatsApp<\/strong> group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n Cheadle<\/a> MP Tom Morrison described Judy’s death in April as a ‘very difficult day for Gatley’, adding: “No one should ever have to experience such a loss, and I know the whole community will share in the sense of shock and sadness at [the] news.”<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n For the latest stories and breaking news visit manchestereveningnews.co.uk<\/a>.
