Josh Windass is in the sights of a number of Championship clubs while several other key Sheffield Wednesday players are on the verge of moving to new clubs, it is claimed.<\/p>\n
A number of Wednesday players are believed to be serving a 15-day notice period due to major issues with wage payments,<\/a> one of the main problems of many hanging over Hillsborough this summer, while others could be sold to raise funds.<\/p>\n Top scorer Windass, aged 31, will be one of the most in demand while Djeidi Gassama is reported to be close to joining Rangers and Anthony Musaba is being heavily linked with Rizespor, in Turkey.<\/p>\n The Sheffield Star<\/a> writes that long-time admirers Wrexham will have competition for Windass from clubs including Rangers, Derby County, Norwich City and Coventry City, as well as teams in Germany. Stoke City were linked with the forward last summer.<\/a><\/p>\n They add: “Gassama could prove to be the first official exit of several this summer, with (owner) Dejphon Chansiri trying to raise funds amid the chaos in order to try and pay his players and staff as well as get the EFL\u2019s embargo lifted.<\/p>\n “Wednesday, meanwhile, remain in a state of flux as questions remain regarding so many aspects of their plans for the season ahead, with Danny R\u00f6hl\u2019s future still not sorted out and assistant manager, Henrik Pedersen, currently in charge of training sessions.”<\/p>\n Wednesday are training at St George’s Park this week while it is hoped training pitches back in Sheffield will be ready for when they return in a few days’ time.<\/p>\n A joint statement from Sheffield MPs Clive Betts and Louise Haigh said: “(We have today) called for the EFL to hold the owner of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club to account and stop punishing the fans for the owner\u2019s mismanagement.<\/p>\n “The Football Governance Bill which has now passed all stages in Parliament and will receive Royal assent, will set up an independent football regulator and introduce new rules to protect clubs and empower fans, helping to keep clubs at the heart of their community and to help them thrive.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Bill will also tackle rogue owners and directors, implement a club licensing regime to help ensure a more consistent approach in how clubs are run, monitor club finances and improve fan engagement throughout the football pyramid – from the Premier League to the National League.\u201d<\/p>\n While you’re here, we have launched a new WhatsApp group to deliver the latest Stoke news directly to your phone.
