Danny Jacobs<\/a> has shared his verdict on the upcoming mega-fight between Canelo Alvarez<\/a> and Terence Crawford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Canelo and Crawford are all set to do battle for the Mexican\u2019s undisputed super-middleweight championship on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/a><\/p>\n

One man who has an insight into the highly anticipated clash between Canelo and Crawford is former world middleweight champion Jacobs, who fell short in his bout against the Mexican superstar back in May of 2019.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans<\/a>, Jacobs touched on his relationship with Crawford over the years, as he admits he would favour his countryman over the Mexican icon in what he believes is a \u201950\/50 fight\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I didn\u2019t have time in sparring, but I had at least over 15 years of knowing him, amateur, professional. I\u2019ve seen where he started, I\u2019ve seen how he\u2019s gotten better over time but I also just know what resides in him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a dog, he\u2019s a beast and he\u2019s out to prove something too, so I\u2019m excited about this fight. Canelo obviously is self-explanatory, it\u2019s really no need to go down the rabbit hole when it comes to him, but I do see this being as a 50\/50 fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was a betting man I would bet on Crawford, but also you can\u2019t count Canelo out, I mean he would go in, I\u2019m assuming, as the favourite which is rightfully so.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As he prepares to make the jump up in two weight classes, \u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford could make history by defeating Canelo, as he will become the first male fighter of the modern era to win an undisputed championship in three divisions.<\/p>\n

However, Canelo stands in his way. The Mexican great<\/a> has been a force at 168 pounds since he made the move up from 160, defeating the likes of Caleb Plant, Billy Joe Saunders, Callum Smith and Jermell Charlo along the way.
