{"id":252246,"date":"2025-07-10T01:43:14","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T01:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/252246\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T01:43:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T01:43:14","slug":"are-florence-the-machine-teasing-new-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/252246\/","title":{"rendered":"Are Florence + The Machine teasing new music?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It looks like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/florence-and-the-machine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florence + The Machine<\/a> are teasing new music after sharing a cryptic new post on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Speculation about new material from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/florence-welch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florence Welch<\/a> and co gathered momentum when the singer took to Instagram to share carousel of images that seemed to hint that music was on the way.<\/p>\n<p>One of the photos included a whiteboard that contained the message \u201cYou can have it all,\u201d before listing off \u201cClarity, power, purpose, vocals, space, dynamics and beauty\u201d, it also made a cryptic nod to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/adele\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adele<\/a>, with \u201cSwans vs Adele\u201d written in capital letters underneath. Another slide showed Flo at work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/idles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IDLES<\/a>\u2018 guitarist Mark Bowen \u2013 much to fans\u2019 excitement.<\/p>\n<p>The carousel included mentions of \u201cWitchcraft, folk horror, mysticism, magic, poetry [and] insanity,\u201d as well as \u201cUnreal City\u201d written in cursive, and a photograph of Simon Critchley\u2019s 2024 book, On Mysticism.<\/p>\n<p>The first photo included an eerie sketch, with October written in a blue, gothic font over the top, while the caption simply read: \u201cToil and trouble\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>While it isn\u2019t exactly clear what the \u2018Shake It Out\u2019 singer is hinting at with the post, it has got fans talking, and some are convinced that it could be hinting at a new album from Florence + The Machine.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DLpZElEiRq4\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Reddit, some are speculating that the mention of October could suggest that an album may be set for release in October 2025, and others have questioned if the handwritten \u201cUnreal City\u201d message could be a nod to either the album title or the name of a new song.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Welch has changed the bio on her Instagram page to now read \u201cI get on stage, and I call her by her first name\u201d, and debated if this could be a lyric from a forthcoming song.<\/p>\n<p>The update has also caught the eye of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/glass-animals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glass Animals<\/a>, who simply wrote \u201comggggg\u201d in the Instagram comment section. The two artists have connections, as singer Dave Bayley has worked with Florence + The Machine in the past \u2013 helping produce their 2022 album \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/florence-the-machine-dance-fever-3223402\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dance Fever<\/a>\u2019 alongside Welch, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/jack-antonoff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Antonoff<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/kid-harpoon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kid Harpoon<\/a> and Doveman.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:500px\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/FlorenceAndTheMachine\/comments\/1luyo48\/new_insta_bio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Insta bio<\/a><br \/>by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/user\/millera85\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">u\/millera85<\/a> in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/FlorenceAndTheMachine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FlorenceAndTheMachine<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Although it hasn\u2019t been confirmed whether or not Florence + The Machine have new music on the way, if it does turn out that the group are working on a new record, it will mark their sixth studio album and first since the aforementioned \u2018Dance Fever\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It will also come shortly after the band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/florence-the-machine-announce-10th-anniversary-reissue-of-how-big-how-blue-how-beautiful-3866123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">celebrated the 10th anniversary of their third album <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/reviews-florence-and-the-machine-16081-315075\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful\u2019<\/a>, earlier this year. That record marked the follow-up to 2009\u2019s breakthrough <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/reviews-florence-and-the-machine-10635-316456#:~:text=a%20shower%20in%20the%20Australian%20jungle.&amp;text=that%20&#039;Lungs&#039;%20is%20so%20distinctly%E2%80%A6%20OK.&amp;text=only%20because%20it%20could%20have,Stripes%20that%20it&#039;s%20almost%20laughable.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Lungs\u2019<\/a> and 2011\u2019s sophomore release <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/blogs\/nme-blogs\/first-listen-florence-the-machine-ceremonials-763229\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Ceremonials\u2019<\/a>, and also became their first US chart-topper.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, they have followed the release with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/florence-the-machine-high-as-hope-review-2346652\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018High As Hope\u2019<\/a>, which was shared in 2018, and \u2018Dance Fever\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Last year also saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/florence-machine-lungs-full-orchestra-london-royal-albert-hall-setlist-footage-photos-3793050\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the band mark the 15th anniversary of \u2018Lungs\u2019 by playing a one-off orchestral show at London\u2019s historic Royal Albert Hall<\/a>.
