The simmering tensions between the Royal Family and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had reached the point of no return for Queen Elizabeth, as fresh claims surface that the former monarch felt betrayed by the couple.<\/p>\n

Accusations of racism toward the Royal Family, and a decision by the Sussexes to step away from royal duties and set up their home base in the United States, surfaced in an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey that is still very raw inside the walls of Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n

A new report claims Queen Elizabeth went to her grave feeling there was no path toward reconciliation and that their comments in the interview were \u2018unforgivable\u2019.<\/p>\n

Almost a year after Prince Harry and Meghan were married in St George\u2019s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the pair sat down for the tell-all interview and intimated that Meghan had concerns over comments made by a member of the Royal Family about the skin colour of their then-unborn child.<\/p>\n

An interview with a former palace insider in The Daily Mail<\/a> confirmed that in her eyes, Queen Elizabeth felt the accusations were the final straw in an acrimonious separation and that the \u2018betrayal was complete\u2019.<\/p>\n

Interviews with the Queen\u2019s cousin, the late Lady Elizabeth Anson, were aired earlier this month by biographer Sally Bedell Smith and claim Queen Elizabeth was livid with Harry and Meghan in the lead up to their wedding and the relationship continued to disintegrate.<\/p>\n

Bedell Smith said Lady Liza, as she was known, noted the Prince had been \u2018rude\u2019 to his grandmother and that the pair had been keeping secrets about their wedding plans, including the dress Meghan planned to wear.<\/p>\n

Now, according to the reports, a former courtier has spoken out about the Queen\u2019s reaction to the Oprah interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he and Meghan attacked the institution that she spent her whole life serving in the Oprah interview, that betrayal was complete,\u201d the former palace insider said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo accuse an unidentified person within the family of racism, thereby casting the shadow of suspicion over everyone, was unforgivable in her eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings were never the same after that. It was a horrific series of betrayals at the end of her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the infamous interview, Oprah asked Meghan about concerns she may have had after Prince Harry allegedly had conversations with a senior member of the Royal Family about their unborn child having skin colour that may be \u201ctoo brown\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were concerned that if he were too brown, that would be a problem? Are you saying that?\u201d, Oprah asked.<\/p>\n

To which Meghan responded \u201cif that\u2019s the assumption you\u2019re making, I think that feels like a pretty safe one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Prince William and Queen Elizabeth uncharacteristically responded in defence stating their was no racism within their family, a situation that reportedly further infuriated the Queen.<\/p>\n
