Weight training has a lot of benefits. <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.acefitness.org\/resources\/pros\/expert-articles\/5463\/7-benefits-of-heavy-resistance-training\/\">ACE Fitness<\/a> says, \u201cStrength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle\u2019s appearance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carrie has amazing legs, and she does a lot of squats to maintain them. In her Instagram video, she is seen doing squats with dumbbells. According to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fitness.beaconhealthsystem.org\/2020\/07\/01\/why-are-squats-important-for-everybody\/\">Beacon Health &amp; Fitness<\/a>, squats have a lot of benefits. \u201cA common misconception is that squats are bad for your knees or joints.\u00a0 Not having full range of motion in your joints is bad for your body, so using squats to increase mobility is great for the body and improving strength.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carrie shared her trick for doing a variety of exercises for a decent amount of time to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/health-fitness\/a8635435\/carrie-underwood-diet-and-workout\/\">Cosmopolitan<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ll often use a deck of playing cards to make my workouts feel more fun, because I really like to mix things up and get bored easily. I\u2019ll assign one exercise to each suit, including one upper body move (like push-ups or pull-ups), one lower body move (like weighted squats), one abs move (often using an abs wheel) and one cardio move (like jumping rope). Then I pick one card at a time and do as many reps are listed on each card until I get through half the deck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carrie works with trainer, Eve Overland, to keep herself in shape. \u201cWorking out and staying healthy is just a way of life for Carrie,\u201d Eve says to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shape.com\/fitness\/workouts\/carrie-underwood-leg-workout\">Shape Magazine<\/a>. \u201cIt is who she is, what she does. Carrie understands that staying strong, mobile, and conditioned is so important in all aspects of her life, on and off the stage. She tells Cosmopolitan that they enjoy working out together. \u201cWhen Mike is around, we\u2019ll work out together. One of us will run on the treadmill or hold a plank while the other does 50 push-ups, or one of us will do squats while the other runs a mile.
