She’s not so far from getting a goal contribution if she keeps this up.

Fußballgott: Sjoeke Nüsken

It’s hard to know what to make of the Germany midfield. A consequence of Christian Wück’s high-pressing approach has meant that in transition, Germany can get played through and sometimes with seeming ease. Nüsken (Chelsea FC) and pivot partner Elisa Senß (Eintracht Frankfurt) have just about held down the fort through two games, and Nüsken was ice cold in stepping up to convert the equalizing penalty — another case of next woman up, as that is also Gwinn’s customary role.

Der Bomber: Jule Brand

Lea Schüller deserves a nod for tucking home the winning goal — and also supplying a nice finish on another one ruled offside — although the Bayern Munich striker missed another big chance and you get the sense that her best football this tournament is yet to come. So it is good that she is getting on the scoresheet.

Brand, meanwhile, has been a spark. Another three key passes, one big chance created per Sofascore and a solid 90+ minutes before being substituted deep into stoppage time, the Lyon star is one of the more exciting creative players to watch in this tournament. She supplied the assist both to Schüller’s chopped off goal and the eventual winner, finally finding the final touch that was lacking in too many moments for Germany otherwise. Brand is drawing a lot of attention from opposing defenses…and it’s no surprise.

Meisterin of the Match: Klara Bühl

For a second straight match Klara Bühl was a dominant presence on the wing, looking a cut above and being way too much for defenses to handle. If there is a single key player to Germany’s fortunes this tournament, Bayern’s big game star is it.

Klara Bühl vs Denmark | #WEURO2025

Bühl was once again relentless throughout the game. She dropped into midfield and ran with the ball, helped with front foot defending, created chances, just failed to get on the scoresheet.

Incredible performance once again.

— Yash (@odriozolite.bsky.social) 2025-07-08T19:15:19.764Z

Let’s not say anything about the missed glorious chances late except…go get ‘em next time.

Bühl is a superstar and a workhorse, and put in another major shift. Compared to Brand, Bühl gets on the ball way more and is also more involved in duels and defending. It’s no wonder she looked gassed at times later on. With Germany qualified, will rest be coming? Germany will need her at her freshest in the knockouts.

Jersey Swap: Amalie Vangsgaard The Juventus forward only lasted 61 minutes before her substitution but was supremely clinical…

[5310
9200,14010,6098,9198,70201,365,2000,299,94,21003,163,1824,6100,12153,49079,2955,6101,21741,9356,9201,6099
0":"post-252855","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-germany","8":"tag-all-womens-sports","9":"tag-awards","10":"tag-bavarian","11":"tag-bayern-munich-frauen","12":"tag-bayern-munich-match-awards","13":"tag-denmark","14":"tag-eu","15":"tag-europe","16":"tag-football","17":"tag-from","18":"tag-front-page","19":"tag-germany","20":"tag-germany-international-soccer","21":"tag-match","22":"tag-over","23":"tag-s","24":"tag-soccer-sg","25":"tag-uefa-european-championship","26":"tag-win","27":"tag-womens-soccer","28":"tag-works
["GET
