Katie Taylor has told RT\u00c9 Sport that “enough is enough” in response to the criticisms previously dished out by Amanda Serrano’s camp as preparations for Saturday morning\u2019s highly-anticipated trilogy fight in New York continue.<\/p>\n

Serrano has only lost three times in her professional career and two of those have come at the hand of Taylor, but after their bout in Texas last November the Puerto Rican claimed that she was headbutted during the split decision loss and that the Irish fighter had engaged in similar tactics against Chantelle Cameron.<\/p>\n

Serrano would later row back on the claims on social media<\/a> but with trainer Jordan Maldonado also questioning Taylor\u2019s approach, a narrative emerged.<\/p>\n

With a second Madison Square Garden bout for the pair now coming right into view, the Bray fighter said that she couldn\u2019t let such accusations go unchallenged.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m not really annoyed about it but I\u2019m allowed to speak my mind,” she said.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s been a lot of complaining and a lot of whining from the other team about the decisions about the headbutts, about whatever, I think enough is enough.<\/p>\n

“I have no problem speaking my mind when I need to; a lot of the time I choose to stay silent, but there\u2019s a time to stay silent and a time to speak up and this is my time is to speak up.”<\/p>\n

On the fight itself, Taylor said it was a privilege to again be involved in one of the biggest nights in the history of women\u2019s boxing.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s been great, I\u2019m very excited about Friday night, I can\u2019t wait to step in there.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m involved obviously in another historic night, I can\u2019t believe, looking back on my journey as a professional boxer and an amateur boxer, the positions I\u2019ve been in and to have these big nights.<\/p>\n

“This is something I\u2019ve dreamt of as a kid and I get a chance again to perform on the biggest stage possible in Madison Square Garden \u2013 unbelievable.”<\/p>\n

At Thursday\u2019s final press conference before the fight, Serrano again took aim at Taylor.<\/p>\n

The Puerto Rican claims Taylor has rowed back on the decision to have three-minute rounds in the trilogy fight, with the pair set for ten two-minute rounds in the first-ever all women\u2019s professional boxing card at the Garden.<\/p>\n

“If she knew she was the dictator and the champion, she should have never accepted the challenge or shook my hand on it, but it is what it is,” Serrano said.<\/p>\n

“I think it would’ve been a lot different if she was a champion, like I said in the last press conference, she’s not in a position to dictate the terms of the fight. I’m the champion, she’s not,” Taylor shot back.<\/p>\n
